regine_phalange Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Great choices Wild is the wind - David Bowie - Live at the Beeb - YouTube You touch me, I hear the sound of mandolins You kiss me With your kiss my life begins You're spring to me, all things to me Don't you know you're life, itself! You allow me to be, what I wanna be Thanks for helping me I'm gonna be, I feel like a brightly shining star For only you to see I know someday you'll have a beautiful life, I know you'll be a star in somebody else's sky, But why, why, why can't it be, can't it be mine? It's colder than before The seasons took all they had come for Now winter dances here It seems so fitting don't you think? To dress the ground in white and grey It's so quiet I can hear My thoughts touching every second That I spent waiting for you Circumstances afford me No second chance to tell you How much I've missed you My beloved do you know When the warm wind comes again Another year will start to pass And please don't ask me why I'm here Something deeper brought me Than a need to remember We were once young and blessed with wings No heights could keep us from their reach No sacred place we did not soar Still, greater things burned within us I don't regret the choices that I've made I know you feel the same My beloved do you know How many times I stared at clouds Thinking that I saw you there These are feelings that do not pass so easily I can't forget what we claimed as ours 2

HokeyReligions Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 Unchanged Melody - The Righteous Brothers Time in a Bottle - Jim Croce Moon River - almost any version Stars Fell on Alabama - Jimmy Buffett version A hundred more I can't think of now. Frank Sinatra had several. You Are My Sunshine ..my only sunshine ..you make me happy ..when sky's are grey ..you'll never know dear ..how much I love you ..please don't take my sunshine away .....its fun, upbeat, sincere, simple, and succinct.
Targetlock Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 as a hopeless romantic so many but these come to mind: (kinda cheesy i know, but kind of true) Sweet child o' mine = guns and roses I'm a Believer = smash mouth (first half is true at the moment ) plenty of others i can't think of right now.
Esoteric Elf Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 If I wanted to give a cheesy answer, I would say Aerosmith's "Don't Wanna Miss a Thing." A better answer would be this song that I heard when I was very young and loved, but I never knew the name of the song or even the lyrics. I searched for it for three years before, finally (and ironically on Valentine's Day), I heard it again, listened closely and searched for it by the lyrics to find it was Savage Garden's "I Want You." Love it

IN THE AIR TONIGHT by = Phill Collins. Best drummer ever. It is a shame Karen Carpenter died at a early age. She could play the drum pretty good. Her voice is Epic. Nothing today does not even comes close

Keenly Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 Eh, it's close enough. Unless I'm completely mistaken what it's about. Edit: Ha apparently he wrote the song because he was pissed at his ex wife. LOL Oh well. I still like it Thats not what the song is about lol. When phil collins was young, he saw one man watch another man drown. The man could have helped, could have saved him, but he didn't. Later on in life, after phil got famous, he found this person and confronted him. "Well if you told me you were drowning, I would not lend a hand. I've seen your face before my friend, but I don't know if you know who I am. I was there and I saw what you did, I saw it with my own two eyes. So you can wipe off that grin, I know where you been. Its all been a pack of lies."

It's only a love song to him because of the 1st lines in the song . (waiting for this moment for all my life = waiting for a girlfriend).
Targetlock Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 wow didn't know that about that phil collins song hope its true though its kinda gloomy, adds new depth to it, though i also thought it was a love song. P.S i doubt Cadburys' knew that when they chose that song for their advert. many great song choices here
