So he has asked for a second chance and said that he wanted us "to get to know each other, take things slow and date". I thought about it and said okay but I am having difficulty with the way things are going. I thought they would be different and that I would feel refreshed and like our love had not died (it didn't on either side) but I didn't. The first date felt rushed and like I was there with a friend and not someone I was dating. (We went to a museum and hardly talked until the end of the date on the way to and in the car) Then in the days following I would be with him hanging at his house and not talking. Things were totally different when we first got together, we were inseparable, but now he feels so distant.

Is it possible for 30 something's, that after being together for 1 year and four months and being broken up for 7 months that we already know each other? Or is there more room to learn and know more about each other? I feel like we should be talking when we are with each other and "getting to know each other." What are somethings that I can ask that I may not already know? How can I get to know more about him in general? Ughhhhh, this is awfully frustrating.

You can be with a person for a year, ten or twenty and there's still a lot to learn.

Maybe you guys are just being very cautious with each other and afraid to "rock the boat" if you started talking?

I think there is some truth to that...
