worried777 Posted January 5, 2005 Posted January 5, 2005 is it wrong for a girl to put her friends before her boyfriend that she has been with for around 10 months? is that a sign that she values them more and always will? at what point does/should a bf/gf become one of the most important things in a persons life or does this vary too much from person to person to adequately measure? do actions actually speak louder than words?

Pocky Posted January 5, 2005 Posted January 5, 2005 A little too vague for me - circumstances vary too often.
SoleMate Posted January 5, 2005 Posted January 5, 2005 do actions actually speak louder than words? Yes! But many people seem unaware of that fact. I think we need more detail about your SPECIFIC issue and concerns. Just asking about how "things generally happen" is so vague no one can advise you. Can you tell us: * Your ages * Previous relationship experience * Current status of relationship * How close you live * School and work status for both of you * Is this SERIOUS (intended or likely to lead to marriage), or FUN * Do you both agree on the SERIOUS or FUN question * What it means to "put her friends first" * Whether you want more time, attention, phone calls, gifts, physical affection, words of love, plans for the future, your desires to be considered, or WHAT? Let me know all that, and I'll give you your answer.

It is certainly not wrong, IMO. Friends are one the most valuable assets a person can have, and it can take some time before a boyfriend/girlfriend can supersede them - although that should happen at some point if the relationship is serious. I believe a bf/gf becomes the most important thing to you when you realize that things are serious and you start to focus the majority of your attention on them. As SoleMate said, a lot of factors come into play, so these are just general thoughts. And yes, actions almost always speak louder than words. It's funny how a lot of these cliches` are grounded in truth.
Hund1976 Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 You really need to clarify the circumstances. There is a big difference if you and your boyfriend are planning to sit home and watch a movie and then that day your best friends boyfriend dumps her and you want to go spend time with her as compared to you have to plans to go to your boyfriends sister's wedding but you blow it off at the last minute to help one of your friends pick out a new pair of shoes.
