Hi guys/girls!!

Before hand let me wish all of you wonderful holidays and a merry christmas in advance!

My boyfriend and I have been together since 10th December and dating since mid October 2013.

I've been thinking if I should buy him a xmas gift or not.. I haven't known him for too long, but I figured it would be nice to give him two tickets to a play and the book I recommended to him during our first date.

He's been super busy with work and regretting not having much time to spend quality time with me, to read books, watch plays, etc..

Sure, there is no harm in giving a gift, but lately I feel like I've given him too much attention and he knows how much I like him. I know he likes me a lot too, but he is not the guy to constantly show his affection verbally and sometimes it makes me sad. But I don't want to come off as needy either.

By giving him a gift I'm afraid it's again me showing (too much) attention and it might be awkward for him if he doesn't have anything for me.

I really don't care about him having a present for me, I enjoy giving gifts....

Anyway any thoughts? Thank you ;)

I give my mailman a xmas gift. So i dont see why you wouldnt give your boyfriend a xmas gift. The holidays are about giving... there is no harm in giving presents.

I would get him a little something. It's just my opinion, but I would get my boyfriend a gift if we were official. If we were casual, I may not.

I'm all about the generosity of the season. I can't see how getting him a little something changes the power dynamic in your relationship against you.

Get him something. . . food is usually good.

In the past when I've met someone just a few weeks before Christmas, I've suggested that we buy each other something but it has to be the tackiest, cheesiest holiday gift you can find. That way, it's kept fun and light - but you still get to exchange something.
