Something fun for NYE?

DH & I love black tie but alas many of our friends don't share that interest & would rather be tortured then put on a monkey suit or gown. Usually DH & I go on a cruise for NYE to avoid the dreaded what to do. Now we're regretting that choice to stay home.

 

 

Half our social circle is going bowling. Yeah you read that right. The local lanes are having some sort of pay one price, bowl 'til 1 a.m. & there will be a buffet & champagne toast & cash bar. I'm loathe to find out what they will serve that they think passes for champagne. (I'm a wine snob)

 

 

The other half is going to a local fraternal organization's party. I love the organization & do a lot of volunteer work for them throughout the year but I want to do something more glamorous for NYE.

 

 

We had hoped to do something fun with all our friends. I started mentioning it in August because I didn't want to be faced with nothing to do. They all promised me they'd come up with something great. They didn't. Ugh. DH & I don't really want to spend NYE with just the two of us so we'll probably flip a coin between the two things we don't want to do.

 

 

What are all of you doing?

I will be cooking with my friends then we will be going to a concert and then at one of my friend's place to eat, watch movies, karaoke etc

The new guy I've been seeing is coming over and we'll just stay in with movies, pizza, and wine. I agree it'd be fun to do something nice, but money is tight and its midweek.

I'll be staying home by myself watching tv or surfing the internet and enjoy the peace and quiet.

working all day.. at least I'm not alone i suppose. might be up to something new years eve though, i will just have to wait and see.
