Guys don't get signals. We are afterall cavemen. My ex once stripped down to her undies expecting sex and I was oblivious to it Coffee from a guy is obvious in intention. COffee from a girl and the guy would most likely think either way of things. If you are interested, best to do IS that but keep things light and casual until you work out if it will work or not. Age a problem? Once you're of age why should you care what others think. Just bare in mind you will learn from stuffs ups and successes regardless; just dont take life seriously.

Because its a fairly comfortable environment, coffee is about one of the safest, natural, gradual and relaxed way of getting to know someone better, (assuming time and schedule permit). I'd probably go with someone where there was no initial attraction just because I like coffee and the atmosphere of the coffee shop, and, its not difficult to change the subject or the interaction if you read something is not going the way you would like.
