I hosted a Christmas party at my house last night. A girl i had never met showed up with friends of my roommates and we spent a lot of the night talking. She was beer pong partner all night and when we were sharing drinks when we went to the bar. I ended up getting her number and asked if she wanted come over tonight to watch a movie. She said "Thats a possibility :)" and said it all depends on if she gets over her hangover... We texted about random **** throughout the day. When i asked her later if she would be coming, she danced around the question and would not give a definitive yes or no.

 

Is she interested or just trying to be nice?

 

Here is the conversation:

Me: Were you successfully able to get rid of the hangover?

Her:Currently on like water bottle number 10

Me:"Lol. Well i'm about to go rent "The Internship" from Redbox, and i sure hate watching movies alone...

Her:Haha is this like a come over and "watch a movie" try...

Me: Haha yep

Me:I was being serious about movie btw... Not exactly sure what you think my intentions are. But i'm assuming the emoticon thingy means a no go?

Her:Haha I don't think you got my joke

Me: Lol i don't think i did either. I am clueless when it comes to emoticons...

Me:So will i be watching this movie alone tonight?

Her:Sorry I definitely just passed out lol. My bad

Me:Lol well your definitely missing out, this movie is funny as hell!

Her: It looked funny!

 

Fyi this girl is a dime and prolly a little out of my league.

 

Questions:

Is she into me or just trying to be nice?

How should i move forward and whats the best way to ask her to hang out?

What the hell does the emoticon mean and what "joke" is she referring to?

hmmm, still to be seen what she wants or doesn't want. I thought you were cute and confident in what you said though. From her responses, she doesn't seem out of your league. Pretty is boring if she's not bringing personality at some point. Yours seems good. She better ante UP and not miss the next movie night with you. My advice: pull back a bit now, make her come to you. If she's a dime, she's used to attention up front but if you show that she won't win you over so easily, especially with not much effort on her part, you'll catch her attention. Good luck!

I think that she appeared to be into you last night because she was drunk .. I think she likes you in a "friendly" way. The poster that said pull back now is exactly right -good advice!.. If you "go after" her right now, it'd push her away if she's "on the fence" about you.

Thanks for the advice. Normally i play it slow, but im going to south america for 2 weeks right after the holidays and im afraid if i dont move quick it will be too late. I also left out an important detail. I found out the the girl i have been casually hooking up with went to middle school with this girl and she knows about it. I would never date this other and will break it iff as soon as something better comes around.

 

Also should i text her tomorrow? And what should i text her about cause i used up the majority of relevant material today.

I would vote NO don't text her tomorrow. Also, before you leave the country ask her what she wants you to bring back for her from SA, then make sure you bring it.

No don't text her tomorrow. Make her wait/work! Seriously, she owes you a text for not showing up to watch movie with you and being so vague when you were asking her directly. Hungover is relative! IMHO, by 7pm, for example, in reality my hangover is gone to hang out on couch, cuddle& what-have-you--if i wanna be there. To go out partying again, ok maybe wouldn't be up for that but to do exactly what I'd be doing at my own house with someone I'm interested in, I'd have energy for that.

 

Let the timing of your south america trip go & not be an issue to how you proceed. 2 weeks is nothing. I know you want to snap her up but as poster above said, if she is on the fence, and you push harder, it's not going to go your way. As far as having no new material, you have the trip to talk about for one. IF SHE CONTACTS YOU, talk about that. Girls who have a lot of offers, like to know that they are getting someone who has things going on. Like a a south american surf or ski trip, LOL, i said that because that is sexy. If you don't have contact with her before you leave--initiated by her, contact her when you get back & say something to effect of "just got back from South America, how's it going" (can be much better worded but you get the picture). Leave her wondering about your life.

I googled the image. The main picture that shows up of a girl just looks like somebody saying "no" with their arms. There's one that's a line drawing of a guy with his hands in front of his mouth. That one does kind of look like somebody who's trying hard not to puke. If that's the one she sent, then she probably thought it was a funny way of trying to say she was too sick.

 

There's a good chance she really was just hungover. I don't see what you've got to lose by trying to ask her out again. If your vacation is after New Year's, then that should still give you plenty of time to fit in a date. I wouldn't worry about what to do while you're gone on vacation until later.

 

I don't think you should bother too much with the texting. It's better to see her in person if you can and not bother with her if you can't.
