I received a sms from my ex saying; "I told you not to f*ck with my emotions" (he grabbed my face, looked me straight in the eyes and said those words) that was when we were together...I have no idea why he is mentioning it now. I've changed my number ages ago, although tempted, I never contacted him after my "psycho-attacks" months ago...I recently got an email from him, that he sent by accident, to which I haven't responded, since I couldn't care less...I just don't know what does he want from me? I realized that he is the nastiest person I've ever met, and I don't want to have any contact with him....I want to be left alone, but I don't want to send a message telling him to leave me alone! Was this message a threat or is he playing a game with me? How do I stop this sh*t?!

im not sure and im pretty new to this forum , but as a man i wouldn't do that to my ex if i try to get back together or wanna be friend after long time . why do i find that text so offensive ?

This sounds really scary.....

I'd save that text, you might have to contact the police if he says something like this again. This sounds like a threat, not a game. Stuff like this should be taken serious.

Maybe I'm just too paranoid, but I don't like this at all.

Well keep track of all he sends to you. If he continues to do this contact the cops. They will start the paperwork trail. If after them talking to him he persists its not going to go well for him. Stalking orders are taken very seriously these days.

On another not just ignore it and hopefully he will just leave you alone. People that do those kinds of things are fools. Life is to short to fight the world.

Thank you Mariposa10 and Clay,

I will ignore it. If he sends any similar messages like that, I will contact the police.

I don't mean to freak you out or anything, but was he violent in the relationship? or in past relationships?

Did he ever talk about past relationships? His exes? You can learn a lot by the way people talk about their exes..

No, he was really nice, everything that a woman would want in a man..But he was a nasty liar and a cheat..I don't know where this is coming from, it's really strange to get a message like that in the middle of the night...I was just thinking that this message could be hunger for an "ego boost"..

liar and cheat is the worst for a relationship :/ .....

Sent you a PM.

Just a Question about your split.

Seems strange... He is trying to get a rise out of you. Don't give him the satisfaction of achieving his goal and ignore him. Keep track of the text however, as there is a past history of abuse you need to have it on file

I am sorry your ex had the nerve to sent you this. Not nice, controlling and very scary.

Do you have a smartphone? You can get an app which 'blocks' the texts. It does not actually block them, but you don't get a notification. The texts will be stored in the app without you getting a heartattack every time you receive a text.

Make sure to check the texts every once in a while, or have a friend check them for you. Just to make sure if you need to file a report or not.

I've already done that...turned off the notifications. I will change the number again, since I have a pre-paid number and only very few people have it anyway, I have no problem changing it a much as I need to

That also solves the problem. Still be carefull though, does he know where you live?

Thank you Haydn, it's really good to know that there are honest people who tell you how it is and not what I want to hear.
