KelC411 Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Ugh. For two nights in a row, I have had "getting back together" dreams. I get what you are trying to do, Brain, but come on, it makes it SO MUCH HARDER when you wake up and realize its not real. Not really looking for advice per se, just wanted to put this out there since I cant be the only one being plagued by my subconscious. Stupid brain.
Fangorn Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 I dreamed last night that I climbed a mountain for my ex and at the top was a museum and in that museum was a rather accurate depiction of a perfect house I doodled for us once...and then former president Bill Clinton was there so I kinda lost track of what was going on. Sub consioucess suck but depending on what happens in the dream it might be the first signs of moving on.
LostConfused123 Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 I had one a couple nights ago. I was hugging him really tightly. He said "You have to let me go"
Lennon Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 mine have become less frequent man, so they do start to go away with time, but yeah they are nice but when you wake up and realise its just a dream it sucks. they are going away though 1
Just smile Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 The dreams are the worst. They seem so real, and then when I wake up the pain in my chest is still there.. 2

Softie Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 sorry lady not man, my bad I dreamt I caught mine staring in a porno! Wtf Needless to say I woke up a tad unhappy
aelvidge Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 I have these dreams all the time! Glad I'm not the only one.... 1
Haydn Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 I had a dream once that she had changed as was now a really loving open person not the ice queen that she is. It was all going well for a while but then for some reason my mother turned up with a Bazooka and blew her away. What could it mean?

I did have another dream I was dating a comedian my ex didnt like, so maybe thats positive?

Author KelC411 Posted December 13, 2013 Author Posted December 13, 2013 sorry lady not man, my bad Haha no worries. Glad to hear they start to fade (I guess I figured that, but sometimes it seems like this heartbreak is NEVER going to end)

For just a sec when I woke up I was happy and then it was like someone punched me when I realized it wasnt real.

I, not great at dream interpretation but I a gonna guess that your subconscious still holds out hope she will change or change her mind, but the part of you that takes care of you or protects you or that you respect (depending on how you feel about your mom) is not buying it. Maybe your brain is telling you to let go of the hope she will change?
Softie Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Is it true that dreams are your brains way of doing its filing/defrag?
Haydn Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Really? i just thought i should eat less cheese. QUOTE=KelC411;5400272]Hmm that s interesting. Silly Girl924 Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 Ughhh I feel that and hate it. My ex and I have been broken up for 8 months and we both have significant others. My dreams have consisted of us together and my ex being horribly mean. I just had one two nights ago with his new gf and me being BFF again and as soon as he came up to us they stared throwing tomatoes and eggs at me. My ex and I dated for 3 years and he started dating an old BFF of mine 4 days later, although I now know they've always been far too nice to eachother
MoveAlong Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 I just had the worst day in a while. I came on here to see how everyone was doing; I had a dream last night that my ex and I were back together...I can't escape. It doesn't matter while I am awake or asleep, my mind refuses to let go. I'm at a low that I cannot describe with words.
Mondmellonw Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 They will suddenly start to go away, don't worry just try not to think about it that much before you go to sleep. I've been having nightmares, with him, my ex. Sometimes he just stares at me and laughs. lol Ik, Sounds stupid, but it hurts, they're very realistic for a dream.
Mondmellonw Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 Is it true that dreams are your brains way of doing its filing/defrag? I'm studying Psychology, and that's only a theory. There are many theorys about dreaming and its significance. You can stick to the one theory you actually like... But I guess everything it's a mistery. 1
Simon Phoenix Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 Yeah, the dreams go away with time. They become less frequent the further away from it you get. Most of mine were generic "being together" type stuff that are generally unmemorable but there were two vivid ones that I thought were trippy. 1) About a month or so into NC I'm having a dream where I'm walking through a parking lot away from a hotel I was staying at. I have a jacket on and I feel my phone vibrating. I pick it up and it's the front desk of the hotel. Clear as day, the voice on the other end said "xxx left a message for you saying 'You shouldn't trust me anymore'" in her voice, clear as day as if she was in bed right next to me. I didn't eat what I ate that night for a while after that 2) Fairly recently, way after I've been healed and all that, I have a dream where my ex is pregnant with another man's baby but wants me to be the father of it because her sister told her how good I am with her daughter. Both of them are talking to me about being the father and being with my ex while I'm http://gifrific.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Confused-Gary-Payton.gif 1
Author KelC411 Posted December 14, 2013 Author Posted December 14, 2013 Is it true that dreams are your brains way of doing its filing/defrag? It is one theory! Some people believe it is just random circuitry firing, but a lot theorize that it is processing at night. Studies of mie have shown that when they run mazes all day, their brains will show those same patterns at night, as though they are still trying to figure it out. (I might be a nerd). 1

I can relate (although I am sure it is worse her being a friend of yours). My ex, also of 3 yrs, was also beng overly nice to a coworker, who he started dating the week after we broke up. But I have never met her, so my brain just fills in a really hot perfect girl whenever I dream about it. Bleh.

I just want a few hours if peace! And I know how the dreams can lead to a low! It is so terrible whenyou wake up and its not true that it almost feels like going through it all over again. It was the first time in a couple days that I had to lay in bed a minute and just feel pain before I could move to get up.
