I'm a Christian universalist who believes all are going to be saved. I also have no desire to improve myself or do anything productive with my life. If I live 100 years on this planet I intend to waste it away and not making my life count for the Lord. I think it's perfectly okay to spit in God's face by not using the gifts He has given me to make an impact in this world. I'm perfectly happy to let the gifts go to waste. He's going to forgive me anyway so I'm not afraid of His judgment of me for spitting in His face.

What is a "Christian universalist" ?

I'm pretty sure exercising your free will does not equate to "spitting in gods face"

Well, God sure thinks it's OK to spit in my face.

I have always found that people on some level confuse "God" with their own father.

In my husbsnd's opinion: if there is a God he isn't "actively involved" with us. He probably doesn't even love us. He just made us and that's it.

His father: abandoned him in infancy and has been completely absentee.

When I was growing up I felt that God probably didn't love me as much as his other children and that he blessed them more.

My father: a narcissist who would suck others into his life by showing off and spending ridiculous amounts of money and gifts on them. He basically ignored me. If I wanted some attention he would brush me aside and go hang out with the "flavour of the month."

OP, you pissed off at your Dad?

How's that relationship working?

I'm sure a non-existent entity doesn't give two hoops if you spit in its face or not.

Have you been reading Matthew 26?

Then they spit in his face and struck him with their fists. They blindfolded him, and said, “Prophesy to us, Messiah. Who hit you?”

My guess is that you're off to a good start.

FYI, the bible mentions people casting Him behind their back, but you will not be able to spit in God's face technically. I am assuming you mean metaphorically?

Therefore thus says the Lord God: Because you have forgotten me and cast me behind your back, you yourself must bear the consequences of your lewdness and whoring. They have committed adultery, and blood is on their hands. They committed adultery with their idols; they even sacrificed their children, whom they bore to me, as food for them.

Anyone that see's God's face cannot live.

But,” he said, “you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live.”

Sadly, this is essentially what's taught in most churches. But the truth is that you will NOT be forgiven if you don't repent and accept Jesus Christ. You MUST repent. If God passes over the sins of those who are not covered by Jesus Christ, then God will be made out into a liar since he said that the soul which sins must perish.

That sounds like a very boring life...
