SanAntonio1992 Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 So here's the story I've been friends with this girl for around 8-9 months. We normally text or talk on Facebook. During this friendship, we would often send 8-12 messages a day, each message being fun and comprehensive. There was a bit of flirting, but not 'over the top'. She respects me a lot, she thinks I'm smart, kind and extremely funny. Here's the problem!! Earlier in the year, I had feelings for this girl. I told a few friends, but that's about it. Since then I thought our friendship was more valuable. I've always text her 'as a friend' and nothing else. However (I don't know how it happened) but she has been a bit short in the conversation. Now she's sending a message every 2 days, each message being 4-6 lines. The problem is that she might think that I like her and wanted me to 'back off'. I can see where she is coming from. Some off the texts that I send to her, might give her the impersonation of 'I'm trying to hit on you'. But I'm just being myself. I'm a kind-hearted person. But the friendship is kinda on a slight decline. I think she feels uncomfortable when she talks to me, mainly because she thinks that 'I love her'. I really miss my old friendship with this girl :-(. But I guess I should think positive and 'accept what I've got'. I'm glad that she's still replying to my texts. I'm not 100% sure that this is the case, but it's extremely likely. THE POINT: What should I do? How do I get this 'old friendship back without making it awkward for her? I guess I should mention that she still text me, even though her best friends don't like me. Then again, it could be out of guilt or sympathy. Thanks heaps :-).
d0nnivain Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 You don't have to "get her back" because you haven't really lost her even though she is dialing back communications. It is the holiday season & exam time for may people. Her schedule could also be a little heywire at the moment. Just keep doing what you have always done & don't be different because you thought you liked her. Act like that revelation never occurred & she should come back to a more "normal" schedule.
