When we kiss it's pretty much all closed mouth. When there is tounge he just kind of opens his mouth, he doesn't even want to stick out his tounge.

I don't really mind a lot, but it feels awkward when I'm getting into things...

I don't know how/ if I should bring it up.

Advice?

Bring it up, he's not psychic. Just tell him what you like, show him what you like. Nothing wrong with that, if he gets offended, well... he shouldn't, so if he does, he's less than a man.

It depends on if you want to stay with him, imo. I wouldn't bother if he's short term for you. But, if you want a long term relationship, ya, I'd coach him a little.

I don't think anyone would be offended, if anything its a good excuse to get more kissing in

A bit of the issue is he does feel "less than a man". His ex told him she was leaving because he was "too girly".

I am assuming this is ahole talk for not confident

Edit: he is Japanese, naturally shy, not many girlfriends ans each was mean to him.

I'd like to just say something but I worry I will hurt his confidence more.

He is great, I want long term, but I feel like the kissing is a reflection of his insecurity.
