BIG mistake...

I broke NC to tell my ex I had moved on and was seeing someone else because I wanted him to stop contacting me. I blocked him on facebook and he flipped out, saying I was just "trying to hurt him," and wouldn't believe me when I explained what I was trying to do.

 

So now that he knows I've moved on he

A) has threatened to try to make my life as miserable as possible

B) has accused me of only being with him to "use" him since it's "so easy for me to move on" (despite my saying it was just to distract myself from him and related to the needing space thing)

C) has said that he was starting to think he made a huge mistake and that's why he was wanting to talk to me but now he "knows he dodged the biggest bullet"

 

So yeah I feel just dandy.

 

So, kids, let this be a warning to you- No matter how much you want to explain NC, to make it better, no matter how much you are trying to get them to understand WHY, in the end, JUST DON'T ANSWER THEM.

 

Ugh. Back to square one and now I'm kind of scared he's going to trash my reputation around town.

 

On the positive side, I NEVER EVER EVER IN A MILLION YEARS want to get back together with him now.

You should of just kept NC and moved on, why pour salt into the wound. Ex's aren't on the same page anymore, you're both hurt and healing and contact is very fragile concerning both people's egos. Like your last sentence proves in this thread.

 

He just didn't need to know you could of blocked him and kept NC.

safe to say your story is one we should all pay heed to as I was wrestling with not caving in last night and breaking NC when my ex contacted me and got the guilt factor on my end blasting at full speed. Thank you for posting your experience because it has help reaffirm my decision to maintain NC. Sorry that it happened nonetheless but you just dust yourself off and get back up on your feet. You will prevail!
