Would this bug you if it was the response to your opening email?

For some reason it's bugging me, though I don't know why. I can see where it could easily be a deal breaker for some people.

I emailed someone who had been viewing my OLD profile numerous times over the past week or so. She's cute, seems to have her **** together, and appeared interested so I dropped her a line.

Now, I admit I don't' have the "religion" tag answered because honestly, I don't know where I stand on that these days. They don't have "non-practicing Catholic/Christian Agnostic" as a selection.

As I said, I think it's a fair question. Just strikes me as rather blunt (as it's the only thing she's asked.) and I'm debating if I even want to answer her.

Her entire response was - Thanks for the note. Had a company party last night. What' is your Faith?

First, I'd like a bit more than a 3 sentence response, and second, that question...

Just as someone who has no religion can be a dealbreaker to some, the fact that she rates it high enough in her life to be a first question to me, is pretty damn close to a deal breaker for me.

Jediism is always a good religion to have in case Darth Vader ever comes back.

Then again I would personally reply and say that I am a Creationist, now lets make some babies :D

Just be honest that you don't really know where you stand. It could have been a deal breaker for her past relationships and she wants to know right up front. She could be in the same position as you. And wouldn't you like to know its a deal breaker now and not a month from now

Nothing wrong with the question. It may be a very high priority for her and want to know. You don't know either way, so just answer her honestly.

Yeah, I plan on answering her, it's a fair enough question. Like I said, don't know why that particular one in bugging me. Maybe because I place a low priority on it.

I can't speak to other faiths but Christians can be hard core on this.,,because being christian in many instances is not enough. If ultraconservative, you will need to be actively reading your bible daily, participating in a ministry, evangelizing and in some cases trying to convert folks, obeying the "laws" of the Bible (no swearing, sex, dirty jokes etc.), there will be no dating, just courting and in many cases they do not even kiss til married. If you are not exactly where they are in faith you are an automatic "no". Nothing wrong with any of it but many will find it much stricter than what they have been exposed to. Other religions I can assume have their more conservative groups as well. Just be honest.
