I was wondering which are the best dating sites that are for marriage minded singles?

I think many women want marriage/LTR but there doesn't seem to be many dating sites that specifically target this need.

It seems that most dating sites are casual hookup sites with non-serious men.

How do women who want marriage deal with players on dating sites?

As per my own experience, I find EHarmony to be better suited in finding LT-caliber ladies. It also costs the most, so that may explain part of it.

I met my current gf (and soon to be fiancee). :) Oh, the stories we will tell our kids. LOL! :D

Free dating sites are mostly for hook ups.

Paid sites are more for serious relationships.

Try eharmony

How many women are on eHarmony compared to men?

Does it seem like more than 50% of single women prefer marriage/LTR over casual dating?

It just seems to me that many men prefer casual dating, while women prefer monogamy. But its also because men are more aggressive when it comes to meeting more women, while women want to focus on one guy at a time.

I tried Eharmony for awhile. There were almost no men there who lived nearby... and it got annoying how they kept telling me that I needed to open up my age range to men up to 14 years older.

I'm pretty sure they aren't telling the guys to open up their age range to women 14 years older!

I agree that the free sites seem to be for those more inclined to date casually or hook ups. The times I used those in the past, I never posted pics and only agreed to meet men I contacted first... just for that reason.

The only OL site I was ever on was eharmony. I picked it because at the time it was the most expensive one out there & it's a real p.i.t.a. to fill out that questionairre. Anybody who goes through all that is more serious than somebody who can slap up a free profile on a lonely night.

The few men I met were quality guys with the "advertised" level of education & seriousness. I didn't click with any of them but they were good guys.

The "problem" which I is suspect is made worse by their "free communication weekends" is that after your subscription expires & you no longer have access to the site, you get e-mails for about a year telling you that you should re-join because you have new matches. Somewhere out there guys were getting my profile & were hurt because I didn't respond. I couldn't respond because I was off the site. When I realized that was happening I concluded that at least some of the men with whom I was matched who didn't respond must have also been off the site.

As a woman I can get a casual date almost anywhere: a bar, a coffee shop, a store etc. When I went through all the trouble of OLD, I wanted something more serious. So no, it's not that women always want something more serious, it's the venue.

Yeah, most all dating sites feed on the desperation of their customers to get them to re-sign up for their site.

"Hey, someone just sent you an email, want to read it? SORRY HA HA HA HA...you have to sign up for our membership in order to do so you desperate fool!!" LOL
