irc333 Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 You know what lately, the kind of luck I had been having with getting dates...and had been getting them more frequently now....are the ones that live further away from me....appx. an hour drive. I've pretty much exhausted the limit of my emails to some of the women locally to have no luck or response whatsoever. I mean, if you think about it, we could be together for a quick meet n' greet within 5 to 15 minutes...no sweat. Though dating long distance can be quite the commute, it would be very nice to meet someone local. I mentioned this to a friend of mine, and she was thinking that perhaps it's perhaps the fact you live TOO close to each other, because in case things didn't work out, you mind wind up bumping into each other than as you would if you had met someone further away Yes....no?
Teraskas Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 It's tough to say, really... As you mentioned, long distance could become quite the commute. I once had this interest in a girl, but she lived 81km away from me. I had to spend 2 hours minimum JUST to reach her. (1 hour to take the bus to the city, and another hour to take the train over to her place) Eventually it didn't work out because of the distance. Another relationship I was in, by coincidence she happened to live relatively close to me. (5.5km) When that relationship was in shambles, I barely ran into her. Granted, we were still college students going to the same university so occasionally I had no choice but to run into her. Other than that, I only ran into her once when there was a Christmas fair going on at the square in her region where my club ironically also had a shop. So all in all, it could work with someone local depending on the distance. (As in compared to her living exactly a street behind you) Only experience could guide you in this, I guess. :/
