In an ideal world, a partner should have a mix of both. Obviously, these sets of traits are not mutually exclusive but for the sake of my question, i'll separate it.

An Admirable Partner (A)

- Person you have great chemistry with

- Always there when you need emotional support

- Tries to be romantic

- Puts you as #1 priority

vs.

An Admirable Person (B)

- Motivated, successful in their own way (doesn't have to be money)

- A large circle of friends

- Always involved in the community and active (sports, etc)

- Overall, a person peers look up to and respect (intelligent)

1. How much do you value these traits in a partner? Rank them if possible.

2. Overall, which sets of trait would you choose for a partner? Assuming, if you choose one set, then your partner will be average in the other set.

3. Assuming you choose set (A), do you think those traits alone can make your partner marriage worthy? Set B would be below average in this case.

4. How far do you think each set of traits can make the relationship last? What I mean by this is in every relationship, I'm sure you are attracted to your partner for specific things that make you continually affectionate. Some die down and others don't.

Neither. I'm suspicious of people that put others as #1 always, that's codependency. It's impossible to be 'always there' for someone. You should be emotionally resilient and not rely on someone else.

I don't care for large circle of friends (extroverts) and certainly couldn't care less whether he is involved in the community.

2. Overall, which sets of trait would you choose for a partner? Assuming, if you choose one set, then your partner will be average in the other set.

I find both sets very unrealistic and not reflective of what human beings are like in general.

3. Assuming you choose set (A), do you think those traits alone can make your partner marriage worthy? Set B would be below average in this case.

n/a

Well if you want a codependent relationship, pick A. If you want to be with an attention whore pick B.
