LovesickAlberta Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I have to quit using POF. I don't necessarily like it, but I can't help but see if a girl I am interested in has read a message I sent to her. I've noticed she spends at least 2-3 hours/day on the site. I occasionally go on to see if the girl checked my messages, but I couldn't be bothered to spend over 15 minutes/day on it. Problem is I work out of town, am back for only 10 days/month, and the last two girls I dated, it was relatively short term since geography came in between us. My question is: Does anyone use dating sites, and if so, how long a day? Do you consider it unhealthy to spend 3 hours/day on dating sites? If I had a social life, i would meet people in real life, but I am out of town 70% of the time....
FitChick Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 If you meet the girl of your dreams, you didn't spend too much time. If you don't, you didn't spend enough time.
RDawg Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Online dating is a waste of time. You're much better off remaining celebate.
unbeknown Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Online dating can be fun. I've met some pretty cool people on there. Gotten laid a few times although the longest relationship I've had with someone from there is around 5 months. I've even made good friends on there with a few girls when it didn't work out in a dating way. It's definitely fun but I only think it appeals to certain people. You need to accept that 9 out of 10 people you meet will not want to see you after the first date. They're playing the game. You need to accept the fact that you're probably not the only person they are seeing or speaking to. You need to accept the fact that they'll still be signing in even when dating you. Girls have it better as there is way more men on there so be prepared for her to not want to settle down as she can date and date and date for she has the choice of so many men. I think as long as you're not insecure you can have fun on there. I usually spend an hour or so in the evenings sending out a couple of messages. I've come off there now though as it all became a little unfulfilling. But I enjoyed my time when I was there.
