orioles1744 Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 I just recently started talking to this girl and when I text her she takes about an hour to reply to the first message then she'll text be back and say something that she knows ill reply to. we'll send 3 or 4 messages then she'll make me wait again is she playing hard to get or just busy? Why do girls play hard to get?

Call her on the phone and talk to her properly. Dang man.
Phoe Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 I rarely have my phone on me. When I'm at work it's in my purse for those 8 hours, if I'm at home it's docked on the charger. Sometimes I leave the house without it, totally forget it. If anyone texts or calls me it's typically hours until I see it. I have no reason to be attached to a device I only actually use maybe 3 times a week. 1

Why do girls play hard to get? I admit that I do this. But I am an extraordinarily shy person, even online, as I am getting to know someone. I think, for me, it is like I need to go away and think for awhile and contemplate what has come before (even if it is just innocuous stuff), and mentally prepare for the next round. If you have a shy girl/woman (not sure of your age) on your hands, it could just be that she needs time to go away for awhile, and might not have anything to do with her interest level or game playing.

Im pretty much like that... i think wow maybe she is my soulmate we can watch movies play pool.,workout together , sing karaoke , shop for funky clothes at thrift stores , i can rub her feet after a long day at work... sex really does not even cross my mind.... but then i dont go chasing around women most ive been with i met through work or friends... playing hard to get makes me uninterested if she does not seem happy to hear me can or excited to hangout and does the usual hot cold , cat mouse, standyou up reschedual stuff my intrest vanishes actually i get turned off knowing its all become a gameandusually just " say oh im buzy" and just avoid them give them back a taste of their own game and dont return calls or text and just put a end to it.... now if i had a few dates and felt real interest id put up with a little game to pass her test... but the problem is often women play the games TO SOON sometimes before the first date... No, you're right, I think about sex, but not only sex. If I'm attracted to a girl I wanna take her out, treat her to a meal or show or bowling or whatever, and have a fun time with her. I want her to have a good time and genuinely enjoy my company. I understand girls play hard to get, but what's the best way to respond to this if you want to date them past the point of these games? Play hard to get back or continue to pursue her even if she seems distant sometimes?

Why do girls play hard to get? It's because of the billion stupid rules modern society imposes on us. I don't play by these dumb rules. I mean what I say and say what I mean and try to respond as soon an I can. To be honest most people I know take forever to reply to a text even if they are next to a phone. They say the best part of texting vs. calling is that you are not "put on the spot" and you can reply when it suits you. I agree you should just call. Personally, I don't play the million texts back and forth game. If we have that much to say we should be verbally conversing. I let guys know upfront and people have said I am a "horrible texter." I prefer voice/Skype and in person.
theediblewoman Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 I think part of the hard to get thing is that a lot of women are scared of being pegged as needy or clingy which is a common thing we are told not to be. Aside from that, I think guys play hard to get just as much as girls do, in early dating no one wants to be seen as too eager because no one wants to be one showing more interest only to be rejected.

Playing hard to get keeps the girl safe from looking foolish until the guy expresses his feelings. 1

It is possible that she is playing hard to get with you but since I don't know her that would be hard to tell. Maybe you should try calling her and ask her out? I don't like playing hard to get, I think it's immature and causes a lot of trouble. Though at the same time some guys run away when a girl reciprocates their interest, I don't know why is that but maybe that causes us to be more aware of our ''moves''.

It goes to show you how they try to manipulate the situation. In fairness, though, they do this to protect themselves to see if the guy is a liar or not.

We're going out again on Friday for the 3rd time so I guess things are good.
