Does anyone know any good books on self worth. Or ways to find self worth. I used to be a confident, wont-take-any-****, never chase a guy type of girl. After dating a handful of bad apples I got lost somewhere. Feeling empty and sad, i'm trying to regain some confidence. Anyone have any tips on how I can do that. thanks

No offence but I think u need more than a book... I 'lost' myself too and put it down to experiences Id been through which to a degree it probably was but turned out I was suffering with depression x dont waste time like I did if u are bothered enough about it to fork out for a book then maybe a quick trip to the docs might be better xx

Also, find other interests outside of dating. A person interested in life doesn't lose themselves because of a few bad apples. I took up rock climbing and it makes me have more confidence in my own abilities and to see the world in a different way. Being in nature is very good for me too.

Self-worth issues usually stem from childhood ie-problems with upbringing. I still have self-esteem problems even though I've been working on this for years. I suffered an abusive childhood and I feel a lot of my issues are subconcsious, stuff I just can't seem to reach. It has taken me a long time to realize that I need to be respected by people. I have a natural tendancy to attract disrespect, which is a result of my abuse-learnt behaviour. So I have to constantly keep myself on guard. For me it's a full-time occupation.
