They used to have a beige curtain but recently put in a clear one in the shower. But her mom seems like her mom wants to look at my fiancée while her mother is in the bathroom with her. My fiancée feels awkward in this situation. Can this lead into something profound? Like my has no sense privacy while my fiancee is in the shower. Also there is a in out board to see who's home or not.

You can't close the door for privacy to take a shower, regardless of what material the shower curtain is made of????

My fiancee can't lock the door.

That seems a bit odd. Your fiancée could trying talking with her mom about how she feels about it, and/or set some boundaries to have privacy, like locking the bathroom door, etc. General respect and boundaries. The in/out board could be controlling. Good thing you would be getting married and moving out if not already, eh?

Maybe for safety in the event your fiancee has a seizure.

Time for your fiancee to get her own apartment.

Why is your fiancee showering with her mom in the first place?

I use clear curtains in my showers and I'm single. The reason I like them is that they make the bathroom appear larger. Plus, the shower feels more spacious with clear curtains.

I doubt your fiancee's mom cares about seeing her in the shower. And, why is her mom in the bathroom when she's showering?

All your fiancee has to do for privacy is to close and lock the door!

Did her mother walk into the bathroom when she was showering before they got this new curtain?

Frankly, I'd be more worried if her father walked in!

I like sheer shower curtains. I want to avoid a Psycho type event where I can't see the killer coming.

For almost twenty years, I have very deliberately hung an antique sickle above my mirror in the bathroom - just in case I'm trapped there by a serial killer...

I didn't know of the seizures before, didn't check out your other posts. It would help if you put that info in here so we could know : )

Being alone in a house, naked, in the shower with the water running over your head is a vulnerable position. You can't hear someone come in.

Def more clever and decorative than my habit of keeping a can of roach spray nearby to blind him (the serial killer)!

The wasp/hornet spray has a lot more power behind it, just sayin'.

OP, I'm getting the feeling the reason her mom is pretty much against you and your relationship is that she feels no one will ever be able to take care of her daughter the way she does. Have you proven to her that you can not only provide for your girlfriend, but accommodate her medical needs as well? I understand a mother being protective, but mom is going to be around forever! Good luck!

Your girlfriend seems to like to complain to you about her mother a whole lot. You don't need to fix everything for her, as I imagine she is just wanting to vent.

No, I imagine this has more to do with the GF's complex medical history than anything. A nerve stimulator for seizures, a partial lobotomy. Of course mom doesn't want to let her go to someone who may not provide the exact care she has all these years. (Not saying OP can't, but I understand mom's protective instincts).

OP, more detail in your opening posts would help.

In that case, she may need extra supervision so the clear curtain is helpful. Can you provide the same level of care as her mother if you move in together?

Lol, yes, thanks! Got wasp/hornet spray, not roach!

A clear shower curtain liner with no actual decorative fabric curtain? Scandalous!!! Throw her for a loop and upgrade the trailer!
