Whatever you do, don't do it.

If you're at that point where you're contemplating it, just don't do it.

Take it from someone who just did.

After a month of NC, I answered.

Huge mistake.

Pounding headache, tears, and one of the worst feelings of emptiness I could ever imagine. It isn't worth it. I've just brought myself back to the first few days when NC first started.

Hang in there. Don't beat yourself up about it, just get right back on the NC horse and stay there. Now you will have even more motivation to do so! Sorry if I missed a previous thread, did he call and you answered or something, what happened?

I got a breadcrumb text from my xAP this afternoon after more than a month NC. It just said, Happy Thanksgiving and hope you're well. It literally made my heart drop. I contemplated responding for about 10 seconds and then reread a few of my old posts to remind myself how I felt when we're in contact. I deleted it.

Stay strong.

aaahh but you will bounce back quicker now that you know. just understand that you will always think of having contact, just to say the final word, to tell, something, anything.... then you remember why it needs to be the way it is.... when you love them, even if they don't love you.... let em go. just let em go

I'm sure in a day or two you'll feel much better. The one month NC has healed you enough that this slip back won't affect you for too long. Cry it out, wipe your tears, say F-U. Tomorrow go change your cell number so he can't ever call you again. You will recover quickly, stay positive.

The good news is though that since you have a month of NC under your belt, you'll bounce back a lot quicker than you did in the first few days.

Just don't let the NC spiral out of control back to where you're involved with him again.

And it was never worth it. None of this was ever worth any part of it.

Mine actually did the same thing - used the holiday as a way to reestablish contact! Unlike you, I gave in. HUGE mistake. The feeling of seeing a text from him is really comparible to a "high" - you see the text, process that its from HIM, and lose ability to think clearly.

Literally sat here and repeated "cry it out, wipe your tears, say F-U". Thank you.

If you want to avoid the temptation in the future, block his number. Many phone providers have a way to do this directly on your phone or online, but others may require you to call them pay a small fee. Even if you have to pay a few bucks extra for a few months while you get over him, it's worth it for the sake of your peace of mind.

Every time he broke NC I thought, "Maybe he realizes how important I am. He's ready to give me all I need, make big changes." But in reality he was thinking, "Maybe she's desperate enough to give me a little love and attention and flattery again."

Cake eaters never make contact to give to us, only to see if it's possible to once again take. Never let him take a single thing from you again.

Now say this: I will feel better soon and not let that man ruin my holidays.

If it makes you feel any better, I feel so lame because I was the one (I'm a MOW) who wanted to use Thanksgiving to make contact ... just to reach out and say happy holidays. I refrained as I didn't want to lose what little progress I've made after 3++ months of absolute NC. But I actually feel a little envious of those who heard from your xAPs. What does that say about me? I initiated NC and he has complied beautifully. Bastard : )
