Yeah, basically, make yourself unavailable and make him/her feel you're "scarse". the principle of scarcity: when something is scarse, it's more desirable.

 

However, if your ex never loved you, OR if he/she has fallen out of love and has found someone else with whom he/she is in love now I'd say: forget about it. you can make yourself scarse, unavailable, and keep no contact that they'll never contact you again.

 

PLUS: second chances really suck. Better put your energies on someone new. Just saying

i wish i knew that before, i would always make myself available to her after the breakup. i would always jump at her first request.

 

i never had a second chance, maybe it could be better than the first time with her.
