headfirst Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 I had dinner and drinks with this guy and we ended up at mine watched a movie and ended up making out etc We sent a couple of texts back and forward a couple days later after 'the date' Anyways, 4 days later (today) I sent a text saying "hey man, wanna hang out another time soon or something". He replied with "yeah for sure i've got a busy week coming up..I picked up a few shifts at work. We should def go clubbing properly together sometime". Is that just a nice way of saying "oh maybe if we meet out we can hook up" - because i'm not really going to bother if that's the case, there's enough one night stands I can get. What should I reply with..
elbe Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 It does sound like he is letting you down nicely. If you want to try to pick this back up set a specific date to go "clubbing properly". If he skips out on that for any excuse then this guy is not into you.
d0nnivain Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 This time of year from mid-November through early January can be very busy for some people. If he has the kind of job that varies from week to week he could very well not know his schedule. While it might be a nice rejection it is more probably just a poor word choice to keep the lines of communication open. Most people don't think about how particularly their words choices are going to be disected before they speak / write. Don't get overly invested at this point but send back something with a specific date & club -- sure. how about Sat 12/7 at ________ ? A concrete response is a good thing even no I can't on Saturday, how about Friday. A vague response isn't so good. It's a bit too early to write the whole thing off yet but proceed cautiously
