Blastbeat Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 I kept opening her FB profile yesterday and today. Driving myself nuts and most likely preventing me from moving on. So i made the decision to block her, so I can't see her anymore and can't message her if the urge strikes. Will just have to stick with it and not unblock her until I've moved on, and the feelings go away. I hope it doesn't seem childish though. It is very painful though. Her messages used to get me through my work day. We used to message each other on and off through the day. So difficult. Starting at the gym next week. Should be good for me. 6
TylerDurdenn Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Well done. Blocking my ex was the best thing I did. 5
ponchsox Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Good move. I did the same thing. I don't don't to know what she's doing and I'm not tempted to check. 4
ConfusedHumanBeing Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 GREAT MOVE! Proud of.ya. Keep it up 2
reddragon588 Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Way to go! This was one of the biggest moments in my healing process. It is not childish at all! What would be childish is if she got upset about it- my ex did! And she looked like a 12 year throwing a fit about it! 1
Author Blastbeat Posted December 2, 2013 Author Posted December 2, 2013 My ex is very mature so I don't think she would get pissed. If she texts me I'll just say it's to move on.

Author Blastbeat Posted December 2, 2013 Author Posted December 2, 2013 No, don't make that mistake. I responded, it's not worth it. Just ignore her. Yeah true, I guess I don't want her to think I'm trying to get a reaction, which she may think if I respond.
reddragon588 Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Yeah true, I guess I don't want her to think I'm trying to get a reaction, which she may think if I respond. No, you just don't owe her an explanation. If she wanted one, she shouldn't have broken up with you. 2
greenfairie Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 I had to do the same thing. I kept worrying about what he would think. But I kept trying to switch my mental attitude to "This is for your own good, it's to help you heal quicker". Looking at their FBs and knowing what they're up to definitely hurts and doesn't make us feel totally healed. It's like we're using that as a way to keep connected with them but in reality, we are not anymore. It is over and done. 1
nulike8 Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 I had to delete my facebook as I knew I could unblock my ex and stalk her. But I am happy after deleting my facebook account I had put myself in such a position that my social life became more active. 1
maiden555 Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 I did the same. It's hard but to me it's a no brainer. One thing I HATE is that facebook recently started showing the profile picture of the user you blocked next to their comments on your stuff. It used to just be the blue generic no picture. It's traumatic to see my ex's latest picture pop up all of a sudden after a year of him being blocked! 1

It's traumatic to see my ex's latest picture pop up all of a sudden after a year of him being blocked! Yeah I noticed that too, but I deleted the messages so I can't see the picture anymore. I won't delete FB as I have 700 odd friends on there, and FB is a big part of my life (sounds stupid, I know) I use Fb a lot for communicating with bands and band members as we organize gigs and parties and stuff. I am feeling really good now, all of a sudden. This girl who was an intern at a chiropractor center that was working on my back for a couple sessions hit me up on FB for a drink today. a bit random, but boosts my confidence. Also my death metal band has a lot of gigs coming up around New Zealand (my homeland) so I think these things will add up along with the gym workout to make me recover faster
