Under The Radar Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 If you text her all of the time then try giving her a call .
happykat Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Just call! It's an aggressive thing to do these days, and women love that... really!
Ruby Slippers Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 A call is 500 times better than a text. 1
ForeverHopeful1 Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Call her!!! I would be turned off if a guy always texted and never called. I would lose interest. I like seeing someone and hearing their voice. Please call her. 1
scorpiogirl Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Just call! It's an aggressive thing to do these days, and women love that... really! What utter rubbish. Calling is not an aggressive thing to do, it just shows a higher level of interest than calling. I agree a call would be nice to ask for a date. Hope she appreciates the gesture 1
ana0pera Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 call. texting back and forth for hours is nice, but you can communicate so much more, and much more quickly, through the telephone. it is more intimate and requires more effort on both ends as you cannot easily engage in other tasks while on the phone. whenever i've just started seeing a guy who is a text-a-holic, which is common in today's society, he will inevitably ask if he can call me and I always say yes (assuming it's a good time for talking). I get super giddy and I smile like a freak for the entire conversation lol. It is much appreciated. If he just called out of the blue I would be even more giddy, but that doesn't really happen early on for me. I don't call out of the blue either though so I can't complain .
unbeknown Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 It always makes me laugh how much emphasis people put on calling vs texting. If a girl likes you she'll reply to a text or a phone call. It really doesn't matter. Being 23 myself I always text unless I want an answer quickly or I'm on the way to meet her and I'm running late etc. Just to reiterate a girl will always find a way of getting back to you if she is interested. She's not going to be sitting there thinking oh he text me back instead of called, I'm definitely not seeing him again.

Granted I'm a grown woman not a girl but if a man texted me to ask me out to dinner, I wouldn't think I'm not seeing him again. I'd think: what a jerk. Doesn't he know how to use a phone? Doesn't he have any respect for me that he wants to hear my voice? To the OP: call. It's more personal. 1

I like guys who go after what they want - that means picking up the phone and calling me when he wants to talk to me. I would also never accept a date invitation via text. Seems wimpy and lazy.
unbeknown Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 How old are you two if you don't mind me asking? It's just the girl the op is talking to is 18. I'm 23 and have found asking by text is MUCH prefered in my age range where as people 28-30+ prefer calling. Yeah calling shows more confidence but 90% of communication is done through text within my age group. If you want to stand out then sure call as I guarantee 9 out of 10 guys would only be texting but I still stand by what I said previous 1
Ruby Slippers Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Some things never change. The man who asserts himself the best gets the woman, at any age.
Phoe Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 I'm one of the few who doesn't like phone calls. I don't pay much attention to my phone, don't have it on me often, and if a guy calls me, I likely won't notice for several hours, then I gotta call him back, we might end up playing phone tag and that's ridiculous. By texting me, I get a clear message, and when I see it I can send back a clear response. No phone tag.
Phoe Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 For what it's worth, I've never been asked on a date via phone call. Nor in person They've all been either by text or facebook message. Maybe it's a generational thing
