jsmith79 Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Sorry, this thread is a little long, but I'm really confused about this situation. I've known this girl for a while but we've just been friends for all of the time that I've known her (I'll call her Britney). We go to the same college. We're not like best friends and don't hang out all the time or anything. It's one of those situations where we have mutual friends, and we hang out a lot in groups on the weekends. Anyways, I've always kind of had feelings for her but I've never made a move on her because I've been involved with other girls. However, I've noticed things have changed between us recently. 2 weeks ago, she randomly called me and asked me to do a favor for her. It was really stupid and miniscule, and I'm not entirely sure about why she asked me to help her because she could have easily done it herself. She's also really never asked me for favors or anything up until this point. Anyways, she got really drunk at a bar that night, and went on with me on the phone that night about how I'm such a nice guy, and how thankful she was for me helping her and everything. That night, when I was helping her, she also introduced me to one of her good friends who I hadn't met. She literally introduced me to her like 3 or 4 times, and made sure I remembered her. I thought that she might be trying to hook me up with her, but she hasn't mentioned her since. Then, last weekend, we had a party for a bunch of our friends, and we all hung out and got drunk together. Me and her were flirting a lot that day. It was little things like brushing up against each other, her playfully hitting me, jumping on my back, teasing, etc. We had never really interacted like this that much before that weekend. Sometime during the day, she randomly brought up her ex-boyfriend from a year or 2 ago, and how he's been trying to contact her again recently. But, she didn't say that she liked him or anything. She just said that he wanted to go out to dinner with her, which I said was a stupid idea because he was a dick. She didn't mention him again after that conversation. Then, a girl that we know that neither of us like because she's immature and annoying (I'll call her Samantha) recently developed a crush on me like a month and a half ago. Then, last weekend, I told Britney that Samantha had been acting weird and trying to hang out with me and texting me recently, and Britney was very interested, and wanted me to tell her every detail. I said that I didn't like her, and was confused as to how to get her to stop pursuing me, and she told me to just stop contacting her. We continued flirting throughout the day. Then, she invited me to go out to a bar with her and 2 of her friends later that night. She had never really invited me out with just her and her friends like that before. We've invited each other out when our group of friends all went somewhere, but she had never really invited just me out before. Right after she asked me, she also asked another guy that we're friends with. Although I'm not sure why she asked him because she knows that he's not the kind of guy that goes out to bars very often, so she had to know that he was going to say no, which he did. I told her that I would think about it, then she went over to 2 of her friends right after I said that and said she was going to tell them that I was coming. Later that day, she asked me if I had decided if I was going to go to the bar that night, and I said that I didn't feel like going. A little bit after this, her and 2 of her friends randomly left. In her defense, we were outside, and it was really cold, so that could have had something to do with it. I just thought that it was weird that she randomly decided to leave a little bit after I said I wasn't coming. Later that night, she was pretty drunk and randomly texted me, which she also usually doesn't do. Another thing that I've noticed is that she's been snapchatting me and stuff a lot more over the past 2 weeks than she used to do. Also, earlier this week, I was talking to Samantha because I ran into her on campus. Samantha and Britney still hang out sometimes even though they don't really like each other. Samantha told me that she was hanging out with Britney and Britney's best friend a few days earlier. I had only met Britney's best friend once prior to this, and it was like 3 months ago. Apparently, I came up in a conversation somehow, and she told me that Britney's friend said something like "aww I love him", which I thought was weird because I had met her once for like 20 minutes a few months prior to this. Then, a few days ago, I was standing on a street corner, and Britney's best friend was also standing there. She recognized me and made it a point to say hi to me, and said that she was Britney's friend, and asked if I remembered her. I thought that this was weird too because, like I said, we had met once for like 20 minutes a few months ago. My question is, what is this girl's deal? Does she like me? Or have we just become better friends? It's hard to tell because we've just been friends for a while.
bubbaganoosh Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Seems like the only time your interacting with her is when either you, her or both of you are drunk. People say and do things drunk that they wouldn't do when sober so try meeting with her in a place when both aren't drinking and see where it goes. Don't base anything on what a person says when their loaded. They probably wouldn't remember anyhow.

Author jsmith79 Posted December 2, 2013 Author Posted December 2, 2013 She has done everything she can think of short of hitting you in the head with a 2x4. The lady would like you to ask her out. What are you waiting for? Because we've been friends for a long time. If it was with any other girl, I would have been able to easily interpret the signs. But it's hard to tell with someone you've been friends with for years. What I just don't understand is, why does she suddenly like me now? Why not a year ago or something? She didn't recently get out of a relationship or anything. The last time she was involved with a guy was like 4 or 5 months ago.
