Jutty Posted December 29, 2004 Posted December 29, 2004 I have a friend who i'm know now for about 16 months, and i feel she is one of the most wonderful persons that have come into my life in the last 10 years or so. I haven't had the opportunity to become as close to anyone as i have to her. We used to see each other alot when we worked together but since the left the job i'm at it isn't very often that we see each other. Last week she was in the hospital with the flu and got out last thursday evening. I went to visit her and brought her her christmas gift. when i was there she started talking funny and said that her mouth was goign numb. i only visited for a half hour and when i left she gave me a hug and told me to call her to let her know i got home, so thats what i did, but i called and she answered and didn't say anything and hung up, so i called and this time left a voice mail. the following morning i woke up and found a text message on my phone saying that she had an anaphylactic reaction and had to go the ER. this was Christmas Eve morning. i tried texting and calling her for the next few days with no response. I was very worried that something happened to her. Well, today she finallly called me, which made me feel better. She told me she and her fiance were going out to dinner, to see a movie and then to the bar. I told her i was working and she said that i was invited to dinner with them if i wasn't working. She's the type of friend i've always wanted, and i hope we always remain as close as we are. Sometimes i wonder if anyway would think it unusal for a girl to invite a guy out with her and her fiance. Has anyone else ever had the experience of such a friendship?
Author Jutty Posted December 29, 2004 Author Posted December 29, 2004 Earlier in out friendship she had told me never to cross her the wrong way, but i was never sure what she meant by that and i asked her what an example would be of doing such a thing. She said not to be a two-timer. I understand it as meaning not to cheat on her, but how would a guy cheat on his friend who is engaged to another guy?
Pocky Posted December 29, 2004 Posted December 29, 2004 She said not to be a two-timer. I understand it as meaning not to cheat on her, but how would a guy cheat on his friend who is engaged to another guy? I have no idea - maybe she means don't ever betray her trust.
Author Jutty Posted January 14, 2005 Author Posted January 14, 2005 have anyother guys been in a similar relationship with a girl, or have any girls had a similar relationship with a guy? I wonder if it is uncommon for a guy and girl to be real close friends, the girl to be engaged, but the friendship was created before the girl and her fiance ever met.
SuperFantastico Posted January 15, 2005 Posted January 15, 2005 Ya i 'had' one like that. Kinda in the process of ending it atm. Ok to help you i need some more info. Maybe i will just tell a bit of my story and see if it helps. So when i was a young'n, i met this girl. To make a long story short, i fell completely for her. But i was too much of a wuss at the time to do anyttihng about it. So i decided i'd be her friend. Anyways, we got very close over the years and she knows i like her. So when she's inbetween boyfriends, i'm the king. Its a completely plutonic relationship though . And shes become so comfortable with me, that she will tell me anything. I think she thinks of me like a girlfriend or something . Anyways, she would tell me of her guy problems. she would invite me out with her and her boyfriend. It like getting your cake and eating it too. She has her psudo boyfriend(emotional super support) and her actual boyfriend (physical relationship and somewhat emotional support). Women are confusing like that. Dont know if this helps you much though.
SuperFantastico Posted January 15, 2005 Posted January 15, 2005 Maybe it would help if you though of it from the other side. If you had a girlfriend would you think it terribly wierd to invite her with you. Or take it to anouther level. would you think it terribly wierd to invite your buddy to go out to dinner with you and your girlfriend?
