So my therapist wants me to do yoga & mediation.

I've been looking for places to go / join.

All the beginner classes seem to be at 10 a.m on weekdays. If had the type of life that enabled me to take yoga at 10 a.m. on weekdays I wouldn't be half as stressed out as I am.

How out of place would I be in a "mixed" class if I have never done this before? What can I expect in any given class? I'm not very athletic or flexible. It's been years since I exercised.

What should I be looking for when trying to find a place to learn to meditate? A group? individual therapy?

If you can't find a class to start yoga you can always find walk through videos.

seems good. This will allow you to get comfortable with yoga and purge any anxiety you might have about going to a first time class.

As for meditation, you can learn a lot about it using the internet. Do your research!

Meditation is about emptiness. Get in a comfortable position and remove any outer stimulus (noise, smell, distractions, etc). Focus on your breathing and how your body feels. Meditation is about pushing out the thoughts in your mind and being empty.

The idea of emptiness is that you can think about something, but once you are done thinking it flows away and your mind does not get stuck in a loop causing stress.

Thanks. I will do some more research but I don't always trust the internet.

Then why are you asking for help on a forum on the internet?

Find some reputable sites, decide what information is good and what is not. The internet is your friend, don't believe everything of course!
