I always get decked out. I notice people taking notice to how I dress, sharp, like a rock star even though I seem to be one of the few (if not the only one who looks the way). Does it matter to women in a pub if a guy dresses sexy?

The outfit matters more than the location but you may be intimidating the very women you want to meet if you are always overdressed for the pub.

Dressing appropriately for occasion and venues matters yes, it indicates the person is aware of their environment and have the social skills to fit in. It looks weird if you dress up in some scruffy pub, it's either assumed that you want to draw attention to yourself or that you have no idea what is appropriate.

I guess it depend if by decked out you mean full suit? That might be a little weird in some dive bar. If it's just dressing in nice clothes then why the hell not? I always look sharp (unless it's a hangover day) even when my friends might all be wearing jogging bottoms.

Where what YOU feel comfortable in. NEVER dress to appeal to others. If you're confident in what you're wearing then go for it!

This is like when your driving to a wedding and your hungry so you stop at a service station for a McDonalds or a Little Chef and you walk in decked in your best suit and your driving sunglasses and everyone looks at you and you feel like James Bond and then your filing up those little white cups with ketchup and everyones still looking at you and you start to feel like a bit of a tool!

I think its just about dressing appropriately and appropriate can vary from below average to above average and as long as your within that your good, either extreme outside of that probably wont win you many approachees

No, not a full suit. I'm a singer, not an accountant. LOL

I mean more of a sophisticated NY or LA type club look. Something they're not used to here in sticksville. I am kind of a fish out of water where I am now. I'm from NY originally, but havent lived there in a long time. Some nights I go to the pub I dumb it down for the locals.

Dressing up should be to express your style. If your style is superior to others then be it. Don't change the way you are.

I agree. I just have to find clubs 30+ where people still value looking sharp when they go out. These days too many people dress like they'ré going to hoedown.

I love to dress up, so I'm usually a tick or two above what the given venue calls for. Embrace it... if it's your style, do it apologetically!

I also dig a sharp dressed man, though... I don't see many ladies actually being intimidated by a man who is dressed well. I've never come across that, but YMMV (I've always lived in big cities where dressing well was a bigger deal).
