I am free! * Happy dance *

I feel 100% free from everything to do with my ex. It is coming up to 6 months and for last few months I have been doing really well. I hadn't seen my ex properly for months and I had lost count of my NC. I always worried if it would all come crashing down if I saw her again.

 

My ex randomly turned up at the same party as me on Friday. I saw her come in with her best friend and some guy I kind of know. I assumed they were dating and I was totally fine with it all. I said hi to them both and went about my business. I then heard that she was single but at least I was cool with the thought of her dating.

 

She cornered me and started chatting to me ( She done this before ). She said a couple of strange things. She started off asking how I was etc then she started to bring up stuff I had no idea she knew about.

 

She knew about my new job, when I met someone off the TV. I think she had maybe looked at my FB a few times. She then said " How is your sister's baby ? " I said he was ok and she said " I keep thinking about it " I thought that was a little weird. I showed her all the baby pictures and we just chatted about general stuff. She also asked to look at my sleeve tattoo, to see which bits were new.

 

She still told me off for swearing and smoking. It was kind of in a joking way.

 

When we went to a club I didn't really talk to her. I saw her look at me now and then and look a bit annoyed when I chatted to her younger sister.

 

There was a point where I had 4 of my girl friends hugging me at once. I looked around and I saw my ex trying her best to enjoy herself, she was just dancing near her brother. I felt a bit bad for her and I think she saw me with my friends.

 

The night was really good for me. I saw all my friends and had a lot of female attention. Lots of people commented on how big I had got from working out, which was nice to hear.

The main thing was that I thought she had a boyfriend, met him and was totally fine with it. Seeing her at the club was totally fine too, I always worried about that happening.

 

It is so strange how NC turns your ex into a complete stranger. Obviously I felt like I knew her but it was so strange, she didn't seem the same to me. She no longer felt like the girl I thought was amazing, she wasn't this great person to me anymore. I noticed flaws in her and just didn't feel the same at all.

 

I will stay NC but if I see her out anywhere, I know I will be 100% fine. I have no problem talking to her without feeling anything.

I can't wait until I get to this point except I probably won't ever see my ex in person again. He is way in California and me in Louisiana. I really hope I can get to this point.

Thank you so much for sharing that with all of us...see we know it IS possible now. It's not just a feeling that we hope to achieve one day, it's now a feeling we WILL achieve. Just takes some time and hard work to get there..
