Hi,

What should I do in this case? I could invite her over to my place and we can do something. I don't want to cancel.

She is a year older than I am and we have known each other for around a year or so. She graduated earlier and she has a job (works in university) while I am in my final year.

Some recep: Last week we met up to catch up for the first time in 6 months and I think things went okay - we went for a dinner, then walked around the downtown and went to a bar and chatted. On our way back I said let's hold hands and she was surprised (she asked why? and I said why not?) at first but we did hold hands. She was giggling a lot, saying she wasn't expecting it.

I have little experience in dates and stuff so it's sort of tough to figure out what to do, especially with the thunderstorm alert. She lives 15 minutes walking distance away from me - do I ask her to come over? Escorting her to my place seems a bit too much. Going to her place seems like might be a bit stressful for her too. Ideas?

I assume the dilemma in this case is because neither of you has a car & you don't really want to walk in the lightening?

Is there a mid point where you can meet?

I have no trouble walking in the rain but I'm not sure if it is a great idea to do that knowing there is thunderstorm coming. We can meet midway but if I'll meet her midway I might as well as escort her. As you can see there is a case of conflict about doing just enough and going overboard.

I am just struggling to find date ideas under such circumstances.

Imagine a time before weather on your smartphone....

Live a little.

Sometimes dealing with the vagaries of weather can make for interesting memories. Your posting just conjured up one, walking arm in arm with a lovely young lady after a fresh snow in Lviv (Ukraine) on New Year's night many years ago. She, sure footed in her heels; me slipping and sliding in my boots. We walked everywhere, regardless of weather.

You aren't strangers. You apparently know each other. Presuming you don't live out in the country like I do, there are plenty of places to duck into if a thunderstorm approaches. Have fun. :)

You are over thinking it. If you are OK with walking, walk over to her house & pick her up. Bring a huge golf umbrella so you can share.

I wonder if the OP lives in the area that was just destroyed by tornadoes today.
