Christmas gift?

I have a bit of a weird question...

My boyfriend will ask me what I want for Christmas.....probably in a month at the earliest. Last year he took me to a store 30 minutes before they closed on Christmas Eve to pick out my gift.

There is something I saw online that I really like, and it is on sale this week only. It's about 45% off, I wouldn't dream of asking for it if it was regular price.

Is there a way I can be subtle? Should I not even bother and just find something else whenever he does ask?

I've already gotten his gift, he doesn't know it yet.

This weekend I'm probably going to ask him what we are doing for Christmas (whose family's house we will be visiting) So maybe it will come up on its own then.

I'm not materialistic or anything, and if I don't get this I'm not going to be upset at all. Just he is going to ask me at some point. So I don't know what to do in a situation like this.

He has been at a store and said "It'd be awesome if you got this for me for Christmas" last year, and I did get it for him (when I was not with him)...but it was something that is considerably cheaper than what I'm thinking of now.

I don't know...ideas? Suggestions?

Since he did it last year, I think you will be fine using his words from last year. My husband always wants to be told what I want.

I like to be surprised so we exchange lists with a few things on it with the idea that we will get 1-2 things off the list so there is some element of surprise.
