TylerC Posted December 24, 2004 Posted December 24, 2004 Warning: Long post ahead Alright, so Lauren's (girlfriend) best friend Brittney can be cool, and I don't really mind her most of the time, but she's so needy. Every time I come through the halls I see Lauren hugging her and I get a nonchalant "hey." Now, I'm not mad about this, it just pisses me off that Brittney will get mad at Lauren if she doesn't pay her attention or whatever. After Jon (Lauren's ex) and Lauren broke up, one of Lauren's friends made out with Jon and it upset Lauren pretty bad. Not that he did it, but that she didn't tell her about it. Brittney was the first person she told about it and Brittney said, "I promise I'd never do that to you Lauren." I also found out that Brittney isn't exactly the best driver at times. I told Brittney when Lauren's in the car she better be focused because Lauren means the world to me and I don't want her hurt. I was telling her this online right before Lauren came over to my house, and went she and Lauren started talking Brittney was being really short/pissy with Lauren. I told her if Taylor got mad at me for something Kevin said, I'd really question if Taylor was my friend, because Lauren had nothing to do with this. A few weeks after Kelsey and Jon made out Brittney went over to Jon's house and made out with him. Jon told me about it the day it happened and he made me promise not to tell Lauren. I forgot about it for a long time, then at Lauren's last weekend we got on the topic of Kelsey making out with Jon. Instantly, I remembered. I told Lauren there's something I should tell her but I told her I didn't want to because I knew it would crush her. I told her and I saw the hurt in her eyes before she started to cry. Lauren called Brittney when I was there and Brittney just said "Oh I'm sorry Lauren I didn't tell you because I knew it would hurt you." Lauren told her she's not even mad about her doing it, just that she didn't tell her. I told Lauren not to get sucked in by Brittney's BS because she had her right where she wanted her and she knew Lauren couldn't get mad at her. This all happened on Sunday, then by late in the school day Monday they were back to normal. Why does Lauren put up with all of this?
Pocky Posted December 29, 2004 Posted December 29, 2004 Uh - leave the high school drama for the Thespians and only concern yourself with your actions and how you are in your relationship. You're getting way to caught up in the soap opera called Puberty and you seem too intelligent for that. Why Lauren puts up with this is because she's still figuring out who she is and her friends are a part of her identity. No matter how much you'd like her friend to be out of the picture, she won't be until Lauren decides and that may take a long time. Don't let the friend come between the two of you, be cordial and considerate to Lauren's choice of friends, but don't get caught up in the BS.
