Bad example to give positive hope but, if I had to be completely honest, and we did finally resolve it, I can tally up about 24 years, 5 months.

I suspect you'll completely move on far more efficiently and with far less collateral damage.

Tip: Avoid 'unfinished business'. MC helped me with that in my M and I processed our D in a much healthier way. Good luck.

In all honesty... I think my first love kinda shaped the dynamic of all my other relationships. Therefore I guess I never really got over it.

Love-wise: The moment I had someone else (and that happened on the 20th breakup or something). Valentines day 1989. A day to remember...

It varies. I have heard it said that it takes 1/2 the length of the relationship.

Personally I think you are well on your way when you stop crying or obsessing on a daily basis. Once you get there, count it as a victory & continue to move forward.
