newday4me Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Man drives away after dropping woman off before ensuring she has made it safely into her house? How do you guys feel about this? Both male and female perspective? I think it does not have to even be a date. It could be a bother, cousin, coworker, friend. I believe the decent thing to do is wait until a woman makes it inside safely before you drive away. Is this being too picky? 1
Grumpybutfun Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 I am rather traditional so I do wait to see and always have. Even if it was just a female friend. Safety is important to me. I don't think it is too picky at all. I think it is common courtesy, and shows concern. Old-fashionedly, Grumps 3

However, its only one strike and maybe his mind was in a happy that date was fun/im excited mode, maybe thinking about work, or whatever and simply made an error, drove off too quick, and thought about it later and sees error of ways. If it becomes a habit, I would expect it to be a turnoff for sure.
d0nnivain Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 I am a woman. If I am the driver, I still wait until the other person -- male or female -- is safe. 4
emva07 Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 both male and female friends/family/person who drops me off wait for me. The only time I've had someone drive away from me is once they saw me take my key out in front of them. When I drop someone off I do the same. One reason being, as stated....safety, the other....what if the person doesn't have their key and is locked out and it's nighttime? 1
Phoe Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 I think ALL people should wait to see that the other person got into their house/car safely. Drop someone off at their car and then the car doesn't start? Drop someone at their house and they lost their housekey? The men at my workplace stand outside the front door and watch as I go to my car every night. They make little jokes like "Ok Phoe, if someone attacks you, scream as loud as you can and we'll know to run back inside the building, we're not messing with some serial killer!" - but I know if I did scream they'd come running with their little box cutter blades. Haha. 3
Shepp Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 I always check....whoever I'm dropping off, especially a girl but it doesn't really make a difference because I do it for everyone.
