Been best friends for 22 years. Can practically finish each others sentences...and laugh til we cry. However, when we shop...or if I buy something new...she has to have the same thing...same color. I'm 45 years old and she's even older...so the "twinsies" thing...I dare not! She even bought the same car as me. I suppose that I should be flattered that she wants to be like me. However, her company is hiring...and refuses help me get a job..but helped a complete stranger from the nail salon. She works around alot of men and gets alot of attention. Thinking she may view me as a threat. What's the deal here?

Probably not a psychopath but mentally disturbed? Yes.

I'd be looking for Histrionic Personality Disorder or Borderline Personality Disorder.

Could be something else so research personality disorders. You'll have a better idea of how to handle them once you know what motivates them.

The reason why she doesn't want you to work at her place is because everyone there will know where she gets her taste is cars and clothing.

She might be a different person at work and doesn't want you to know that side of her or that part of her life. I have a cousin who copied me on everything when we were growing up. She got the same things I did every Christmas, it was so annoying! I saw it as a lack of personality on her part or not wanting me to have better stuff.

My first thought was she is codependent on you.

She trust your taste in clothes and stuffs. But to have you in the same company as her, she will lose her identity or uniqueness. She is a bit insecure.
