Why taking the low road is bad. When the other person doesn't think twice about lying, cheating and manipulating. And doesn't get any consequences for their actions.

Unfortunately that is the world we live in...There is nothing we can do or say to change that.

Sugarkane:

There is always consequences for our actions. When someone does things like this they have no inner peace. They live a drama filled life with very little by way of their quality of life. Instead of attracting positive, upstanding people around them, they attract other duplicitous users who care only for themselves. Hell is in your head, in your heart, so when you do wrong to others, you live a half-life only surrounded by negativity and regret.

You are sad now, but you will move on with your life knowing you are a good person, an asset to your community and your world, while that person is a drain. Maybe they won't feel the consequences today, tomorrow or even next year, but it will come when they look around and see very little in their life that is hopeful or positive since they were deceitful and unkind to all the positive people.

Chin up,

Grumps

I still don't get it. Even been bullied younger- (parents didnt care) and more recently in The workplace. Taking the high road made zero difference and didn't stop it. And in the workplace whenever anyone complained about the bullying b**** of a supervisor, the company made sure to get rid of the VICTIM, not the Ahole bully.

The old saying "2 wrongs don't make a right" comes to mind.

Because you can be better than that. It's not the harm that you do to them that matters, it's the harm you to to yourself. If you find yourself taking pleasure from hurting someone else, you'll find that you're hurting yourself and who you are much more than you are hurting them.

You can retaliate all you want but it won't fix the situation and it has a good chance of making things worse. Everyone loves sweet revenge but a mature person looks beyond that and just lets it go. Be the better person and move on. ****ty people will end up with other ****ty people if it is any consolation to you.

Why taking the low road is bad, when the other person wasn't above using you and betraying you, in the first place. Yet somehow it makes the hurt person immature for wanting to retaliate? I don't understand these double standards when it cones to someone who doesn't have a conscience.

Why would you want to lower yourself to someone else's level? Acting the same way as a sh*tty person reflects badly on you. We already know the other person sucks, why would you want to suck too?

Taking the high road is a way to come out on top. Retaliating just makes you both lose. Then what if they retaliate for your retaliation? Would you retaliate?

Plus, anyone who hears your story of taking the high road will admire you if they are of any character.

I would try not to look at it that way. I know where you are coming from. But I think to myself I am going to move on, be happy, live life. I'm not going to sit around wasting my time and energy on you.

If you watch basketball or football, it's never the guy who instigates the fight who gets the penalty, it's the one who reacts... think of it that way... they may be instigating, but if you react, you're going to be the one who ends up looking bad for doing it.

Didnt you already create a thread asking the same thing?

Again, why does it matter? What is "revenge" going to get you? You arent going to get back with her because of it...it wont help you feel better...it wont really do anything.

Letting it all go will benefit you in the end.
