heartburn Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 Help, How to get rid of the stomach? I excercise regularily and has reduce my calorie intake. But my stomach appear bloated. Is there a problem besides fat going on here?
Barby Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 Try doing 100 situps a day for a few months and see if that "tones" you up a bit, if it doesn't then I'd be a little concerned it could be something else..
Joyce Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 There are a lot of conditions that cause bloating like IBS & PMS. If it comes and goes it could be bloating. If it is constant it is probably fat. If your concerned you should see a doc. What your doing is great. Try to focus your toning to your stomach but make sure you still do cardio.
MikeE Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 Well the sit ups certainly won't hurt, but forget about spot reducing fat. It absolutely cannot be done. You've got the right idea with regular excercise and healthy diet, it's the only way to lose weight. Maybe try modifying something. Have you been doing the same excercise routine for a long time? Your body strives for homeostasis so you need to make changes to keep it guessing. What's your calorie intake like? contrary to popular belief, sometimes you need to increase your calorie intake to stimulate weight loss. Are you doing just cardio, just resistance or a combination of both? Just some thoughts for ya.
corythosaurus Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 Reducing your bodyfat percentage is the only way you will be able to trim your waist and see your ab muscles.
blind_otter Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 An excess amount of cortisol in your body can cause you to put weight on your belly - if you're stressed out a lot you will have a greater tendency to put fat on your belly. Just FYI.
BoatingBabe Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 If the bloating gets worse or doesn't go away see a doctor right away and get an abdominal cat scan. I had bloatness for a few months and it never went away and got way worse...I finally saw a doc, and I had an ovarian mass that burst, in which I was then forced to have emergency surgery. Don't want to scare you...but pay attention to your body!
