Met a girl. Went out for quick date and were both enthusiastic. Was texting for a while but both our scheds were miserable for the last week. Got a text from her on Sat morning but wasn't able to respond until evening since I've been working 14-16 hour days all weekend (which she knew). Her previous text had re-affirmed she wanted to get together again soon.

 

It's Monday and I still havn't heard back (and about a week since we say each other in person). She may have cooled off given our limited contact has been cuz of our scheds (more mine perhaps). That's cool but I wanted to send one last text to see if there was anything there before moving on.

 

Was about to text the following but wasn't sure if it sounded funny or just needy:

 

So, i've been trying to think of an excuse to text you and it occured to me that you may have forgotten what I look like after so long. So; just you so remember: I'm 6'5'' with long Fabio-ish hair, a rugged bear, and wash-board abs. Not trying to entice hang out or anything; just wanted you to be in possession of all the facts...

Sounds to try hard to me. Made me cringe. Like, you put too much effort into writing it.

 

I know you have got into "texting" but how about a phone call and asking her out again... Otherwise, one final text and then drop it.. but, make the text something like "still on for getting together? How does Wednesday work for drinks for you" or something.

Thanks. Would love to get both male and female thoughts on this. I've tried to be less indecisive as far as my dating life is concerned lately but it's always nice to have feedback from others :)

I think your text is funny, would definitely make me smile if I got that from a guy I was dating. Normally, if I go on a date with a guy and then he does not get in touch for 3 or more days I don't reply anymore if he suddenly gets in touch again, but if I got a funny text like yours I would probably reply.

I think it sucks.

 

But I think it could be an age thing.

I hate texts...I'm in my 50's and this kind of approach rubs me up the wrong way.

It's so much nicer to actually speak to someone...but this comes from someone who owned a Vulcanite phone like this one

No so much :) 5'6'', no beard, and while I have a decent figure can't seem to get abs.

 

Still think I'm pretty good looking though.

lol appeals to my sense of humor i often do forget what people look like...so i relate...lol...i am finding all these weird posts with funny stuff in them that make me laugh....my son thinks i am writing to friends and it makes me laugh even more because i say nah dont know them from a bar of soap...he went ookaaaaaaay then and backed away..and ran for his room

 

 

the only thing i would say if you are vain and truly believe you look like fabio....and toss your hair alot..... dont send this text

 

 

if you are fun loving and the opposite of vain send it......in the sense of fun ....i would laugh ...but then i am mentally ill........lol....ahem ....cough....good luck old chap..send rabbits.....that always works stuffed bunnies have so much more to say......:bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny:...deborah

Never ever put yourself down by sending some jokey self deprecating text about being tall, dark and athletic when you are not. It screams of insecurity. Just ask 'hey stranger, fancy a drink' or whatever other lighthearted comment. Or call as the others said.
