wayoverdue Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 So my girlfriend of two years broke up with me, by email no less, in May. I didn't respond or talk to her for weeks. She has done so much to disappoint me, and at 50 years old and us having a LONG history together as former friends and neighbors before we both got involved and divorced and began dating, I thought this was very immature. She wanted to "date other people". She said it was just to painful to tell me in person. Anyways, I said fine, and "enjoyed it, will always love you" but made it clear this didn't work for me. So within 3 weeks she gets into a verbal altercation with one of my friends, then sends me a few emails trying to justify, then others but only about every 3 weeks or so. Then, she starts texting and sending cards......., maybe once a month. We've got together twice since we broke up. I called her today for the first time in a long time. No answer. She texts "thinking of you", cards say "we'll always be more than friends", "I appreciate you soooo much" etc., but she seems distant still, not open to talking in person or by phone. I hate cell phones and texting. Why does she do this?
