copperlily Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 I'm going to be meeting my boyfriend of a year's parents for the first time over the holidays. They sound like very nice, accepting people but I'm a little nervous. I am significantly younger than him, and I don't think they know yet. I'm not sure how it's going to go over. If anybody has any ideas or tips from their own experiences, I'd love to hear them!
FitChick Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 The best thing about being single when you are older? The parents are dead.
d0nnivain Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 Be your best self & use your company manners. Bring a hostess gift -- flowers, wine, dessert, a nice candy dish . . . just don't show up empty handed. Call them Mr & Mrs. until told otherwise. Offer to help set the table, clear whatever. Dress conservatively. Be loving to their child but not overly demonstrative.
