If a guy called you "man", does it mean you're no longer his dating prospect?

If a guy asked you out for a movie/drink, and walked you home, and later immediately followed a email (like we often do usually, just email each other for meeting or a quick exchange of happenings of that day):

saying,

"hi hi -- man, that was a nice walk.... etcetc...hopefully see you when you come back..... etcetc.... have a nice trip,

holiday, etcetc...."

Does that mean he still considered me as a dating prospect?

Or is he just taking it easy or casual or just part of a normal sentence structure?

I'm not familiar with the English colloquialism...

so maybe some of you can advice? :) Thx!

Don't sweat it.

It could be that he isn't too familiar with the use of the term 'man' as a form of expression and has no idea that it could potentially be misinterpreted. I have had a lot of dealings with students whose first tongue isn't English and quite a few tend to use colloqualisms at inappropriate times without realizing it.

Maybe he's just one of those people who are always casual with their manner of speech and/or always use the that word in almost any situation.

Don't look too much into his use of the word. Just ring him up when you're back or something. :)

Good luck!

He wasn't calling you "man", like "Hey man, how's it going."

He was saying "Man, that was a nice walk"--as in, "My oh my, that was a great time I had with you".

Man, that was a nice walk! = Wow, that was a nice walk!

It's an expression of bewilderment in response to something positive.
