MalachiX Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Quick recap: Met girl at wedding. Got number. Had quick improtu date on Monday night that seemed to go well. The next ten days are INSANE with work so at the end I told her, "hey. Life's really crazy with these two work things but I'd really like to see you again soon." She said she'd like that and we texted when we got home. We texted some more the next day. I asked if she was free on Friday (the one night which I had off) but she mentioned she was going out of town and asked for a raincheck (which I assume was sincere since she sounded enthusiastic after the first date). The next day she mentioned she was going to San Diego and our conversation was as such. Me: I love San Diego, it's like a cleaner/more compact version of LA. Like if Disney land had an "LA-World." Her: I love SD to and love the metaphor. I always get my best tans there. What are your plans for the weekend? Me: Shooting one commercial. Editing another. And now picturing you on a beach tanning. Her: Well, hopefully tanning fantasies won't distract you too much. I'll be fully clothed this weekend though I suppose that won't stop your mind from going crazy. Me: A boy can dream can't he? But that's OK. I'll wear a bikini instead this weekend. My crew will appreciate it. Her: Ha! You're pretty fit so I say go for it. I didn't get to text her yesterday as I was literally working from 8:45 AM to 10:30PM. I'd like to try to keep the interest up as I've had things fizzle out before because it took too long for a second date (due to schedules) but I also don't want to come off as desperate. I was thinking about calling her over the weekend but I don't know if this is too much given that we've only been on one (kinda unofficial) date. Thoughts?
MidwestUSA Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Well, you know what my answer is! You had a great conversation, keep it up.

It's nice to see someone else be a smooth operator when talking to females. Guys should really read these texts and understand THAT is how you flirt with a woman....with class. I think you are doing just fine keeping her interest level peaked. From what I read, she's already thinking about you =)
Author MalachiX Posted November 9, 2013 Author Posted November 9, 2013 Thanks but I think I just got lucky with the tanning line. Normally my humor is a lot more self depricating (like the bikini stuff) and it's taken a lot of effort to stop doing that and be more flirty. So...the question then is call or text? I know she's out of town on a friend's house warming party tonight and tomorrow. Texting is fine any time but a call should be at some time which is opportune. I realize I'm probably over-analyzing this which, in of itself, is probably not useful. Still, it's fun. I'm trying to look at dating as more as a series of experiments which makes it more enjoyable and less pressure. The only problem is that goes out the window when I start to like someone
NJtoDC Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 It depends on the girl. Personally? I would prefer a phone call to a text if possible. If she is not available, leave a message.

If it were me, I'd want you to text me and during the text convo say something like "I'd like to give you a call later/tomorrow/whatever, when's a good time?"
