This guy I like (and I think likes me) have arranged to go to a show together and do dinner too. We dont know each other that well but worked together for a brief period. He initiated the idea of going out but I was the one to consolidate the plans. Anyway, we arranged the "date" (neither of us have said that's what it is) and he said he was looking forward to it. However, this was last Mon and the date isnt until next Friday (a total of 2.5 weeks between arranging and going!) and I haven't heard anything since then. Is radio silence good or bad? I am hoping that he hasn't forgotten about next week (unlikely) and just a message saying hi would be nice, for reassurance! Any thoughts?

No radio silence. Establish some friendly contact before the event. Keep the communication going so you two can anticipate the excitement of the event together. If you like him, you should try to do something before the event...like go out for coffee.

I just dont want to initiating contact again as I initiated it last time and got the ball rolling with booking tickets! I might seem a bit over-eager. also meeting up takes a bit of pre-planning as we don't live in the same city and finding times when we are both free is hard.

So you want to get the ball rolling....but you don't want to initiate.

Then you are at his mercy.

How does that make me at his mercy? I just dont want to put him off by seeming 'needy' or whatever. Surely if he wants to make contact then he will. He hasn't yet so maybe he doesn't....he doesn't appear to be the game-playing type.
