How to keep the momentum up.

So...started to notice that "momentum" is kind of important in early dating. I've been in situations where me and a young woman were clearly hot for each other, had a great first or second date, but then had scheduling issues and didn't get to see each other for a bit.

 

In those situations, I couldn't help notice how fast they tended to cool off (so to speak). They'd be super eager to hang out and text back frequently but, if there was a weak where we didn't see each other for a week, they tended to text less and things fizzled soon.

 

I met this girl recently and, because we're both super busy, we had a "spur of the moment" date on Monday that seemed to go well. Things are really crazy for me until about a week from today but I do like her.

 

As I was walking her to her car, I said, "Hey. Life is insane for the next ten days or so but I'd really like to see you again; hopefully soon." She said, "of course!" and seemed enthusiastic.

 

Last night I texted her asking if she wanted to catch a movie Thursday or Friday but she's apparently going out of town and those are my ONLY days off until late next week. She did finish her check with "raincheck?" which I hope means she's still interested.

 

Does anyone have any tips for keeping the momentum going when you're going to have a long gap between dates? I'd love to be more flexible time-wise but I'm engaged in some really important/awesome career stuff which I just cant' put on hold.

As long as the lines of communication remain open & she knows you are thinking about her, the lack of face time shouldn't be a huge problem. If the gap will be more than 2 weeks & the budget allows, perhaps send a small bouquet of mixed flowers. Do not send a dozen roses.

Send her a text saying "hey, Ms. princes perfect. You can take that rain check and use it on your bad boy druggie lover with tattoos that you like to suck off for free. Busy my ass, toots!"
