Okay so I've been wanting to get back into online dating again. The guy I was seeing here didn't work out which is honestly for the best and we weren't together for long so thankfully no hardcore feelings developed. So I currently live in the USA but am planning to move to Australia in about 3-4 months (depends on the visa). I have friends to go out with but still want to casually date, and just keep it casual. Go out, have fun, meet new people, all that good stuff. Is that okay? I've made it clear in my online profile I'm leaving, an estimate of when I'm leaving and the country I'm going to.

Also a friend suggested that in a few months I start talking to people online in Australia and get to know them? What do you think of this? I know a couple of people who have done that... my friend actually met her husband long distance (she knew he was moving there in a couple of months) but I'm really not sure how weird all of this is.

If it were me, I wouldn't waste time talking to anyone local unless you were looking for a just a hook up - if thats the case - then go for it. Otherwise, I would start looking to the future and see whats in Australia. I don't think its weird to do that at all.
