napy666 Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Who here went to college, has a degree, and the career they were aiming for and is working in that career making a good living? I have been doing journalism since middle school without the need of a degree but everyone tells me to go back to school to get that degree because it will help. Do you know how many people have done college gotten that degree and are still jobless?
d0nnivain Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 My college major was English but it got me into graduate school which was always my goal. I have always worked in the field of my graduate degree but I am a very rare bird indeed.
MidwestUSA Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Two majors here, Chemistry and nursing. Have worked in both, and am able to fall back on one when the other seems to be no longer challenging. My father did my two older siblings no favors by encouraging them to get out into the work force rather than continue their educations.
thefooloftheyear Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Degree in Biology...Pain in the ass..tough major.. Worked for chickenshyt money....Had enough of that...Went back to what I was doing before and what I was accomplished at(no college needed-but do need to have a brain)...Worked for myself...Between that, the equity markets, and real estate..Wound up making more and being worth more than most doctors..I do work harder than I should, though... YMMV TFY
Balzac Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Who here went to college, has a degree, and the career they were aiming for and is working in that career making a good living? I'm raising my hand. Several degrees actually. I put in a lot of hours. Not complaining.
