whatdoido Posted December 15, 2004 Posted December 15, 2004 I have recently filed for divorce after 4 months of marriage. we knew it wasn't going to work the day after we got married. one of those things. anyway i am in the mist of filing for divorce still and have met the man of my dreams. we have been dating this past month and i knew when i saw him he was the one. i did not think that about my ex. i guess i didn't know what feeling i was missing. anyway i need to know if i shoudl persue this guy i am dating or push away. i have tried to push away because i feel like it is wrong since i'm not fully divorced but at the same time i can't because he is my world. i have known him for about a year and we hang out every single night and just started getting intimate(finally!) we are just alike and i know he feels the same way. i want to be with this man the rest of my life! i know it. so am i wrong for dating and being in a divorce with it not final?? should i wait to tell my family-they are in shock over hte divorce. but i feel so adamant about his i want ot tell them....oh can you tell i'm confused??
SoleMate Posted December 15, 2004 Posted December 15, 2004 Married 4 months, and divorcing... Decides the next man is "the one" after 1 month of dating... Yeah, you sure are confused. If you just jump from man to man with no breathing spaces, you will continue to make bad choices. I'm not so bothered by the dating while a divorce is being finalized, as I am by your apparent lack of attention to the reasons that caused your divorce in the first place. Figure out why your first marriage failed, and figure out what you need to do differently. Then tell your parents so they will feel more confident about you, and less shocked and hurt. Then start dating again. That's my advice. I'm sure you won't take it.
