Would you invite a male co-worker out to eat dinner, then on the dinner, you tell the guy "Why can't a girl and guy have dinner and not mean there is something going on?" In other words, would you invite a guy out to dinner just to be friends? So I find it odd since from a male perspective, I would only invite a girl out to dinner if I was interested in dating her. But after she said that, I was confused.

So I immediately treat it as a friend thing. She could be trying to guard her interest but that really threw me off. Before the dinner invitation, I did not have the slightly clue she would ever invite me out to eat. I mean I always thought she like another guy that we work with. She was always closer to him and more distant to me. Females, just when you think you have them figure out they throw you a curve ball. :p

I don't know about invite . . . so that the question comes off like it's a date but I have shared meals with friends of the oposite sex & I have asked them for their perspective about my romantic relationships.

So go out and have dinner. Listen to what she has to say and you'll know if there's something more to it. I mean it's one thing to just have company at dinner some where. It's a whole new ball game if she throws her legs up on the table and smiles.

It is not a curve ball. She meant what she meant: This is NOT a date.
